Menu Plan

It's going to be a busy busy week here - at home and on the blog. Something huge is happening here on Friday. Beyond huge! All I can tell you is that you will not want to miss out on this.

In terms of life, I have to finish up my book club book (I mean start and finish it) for our meeting on Wednesday. We always have a book-themed potluck. I can't wait to see what this book is all about and what yummy treat I'll get to make. We're up for another week of beautiful spring weather, so on my freer days I'm planning to take advantage of lovely spring veggies and cooking on the grill.

This week's sweet treat: it's a toss up between Pistachio Gelato and Dreamsicle Macaroons. Help me choose! Or I may just have to make both.

  1. I love book clubs that involve food. I recently quit one that was only into some paltry snacks.

Your week's menus sound amazing!!!! I had such a stressful week last week of NOT planning at all, and being confronted at 5:30pm with "What's for dinner?" and having NO IDEA. I'm going to have to start doing this.

  2. You are all planned out. I wish I was organized this week. I haven't been in the store in weeks though. I think this week will all depend on how I feel, maybe I will eat, maybe I won't:) Love your ideas though! And make the macarons!

  3. Foodie McBody - if you find yourself feeling that way a lot (the crap, it's 5:30 syndrome), you should check out thescramble.com

  4. Sigh. I used to have menu plans (http://menusbythemonth.blogspot.com). Then I started cooking for a living...now it's whatever we can scrounge up after a long day spent at someone else's stove!

  5. The Pistachio Gelato looks like a winner to me. Do you use the pistachio paste that davidlebovitz.com recommended?
Your menu looks good and that reminds me that I need to make mine, so thank you.

  6. Heather - I made the gelato this afternoon. It was too tempting! I looked into purchasing that paste, but it was about $20 per bottle. Instead I shelled pistachios and ground 1 c pistachios to a fine powder, then added 1/3 c granulated sugar and ground some more. Worked well, tasted great!

  7. Yummy - temps are around 93 degrees so Gelato sounds like a winner to me.
    Love pistachios too!
