My name is Katie Goodman and I'm a stay-at-home mom determined to make family meal time a priority while providing a variety of healthy and delicious food choices. Being a mother of two (a boy and a girl), much of my writing centers on the family and family memories. One of my biggest challenges is feeding a child who has severe food anxiety. I have many fond memories of cooking with family, trying new recipes, and eating with my loved ones. It is hard to see that the food experience brings my son discomfort. It can be frustrating at times, because it is just so hard for me to understand. Despite this, we do have fun cooking and baking together and he's become quite the little helper as long as you don't ask him to sample anything!
I haven't completed any formal food training, but I have been in the kitchen all my life. As a child, I expressed an interest in food and cooking - creating a cake on the kitchen floor at age three, making Mom's chili at eight, and progressing on to preparing family meals in my teen years.
My interest in cooking was born out of the love of delicious foods and shaped by the influence of many family members. I've had my share of failures, flops, and disasters, but I find they occur less often as time goes by. I take comfort in that and keep on experimenting!
Today, learning in the kitchen, eating, trying new recipes, and sharing them with her friends and loved ones are some of my favorite things to do. My favorite room in our home is the kitchen. goodLife {eats} has become my place to share what I finds good in the kitchen and in life.
